Kanban becomes an integral “service”
The Tuleap team is working hard from weeks to deliver a brand new navigation sidebar. This way, our Design team aims at improving two aspects: make easier for new users to start with Tuleap and enable short accesses to key project information. Benjamin shares you in this video the new sidebar:
This new lateral bar will be fully available in several months but step by step, you will notice new features.
The first new enhancement is that the Kanban will become a full part “Tuleap service” ; it will not be included anymore in the “Agile Dashboard service”
The navigation sidebar will be then display two links : Backlog and Kanban. You will access shortly directly to your (Scrum) Backlog and Kanban boards.
The other features will remain the same.

No more “Agile Dashboard” in the project sidebar
As mentioned, the Kanban tool become a full Tuleap service. You will be able to activate or deactivate it in the administration of your project, part “services” .
In the forthcoming version, the link named “Agile Dashboard” will be renamed as “Backlog” and a new link “Kanban” will appear.
The homepage of the “Agile Dashboard” will no longer exist.
Where do I go when clicking on “Backlog“?
The new “Backlog” link will lead you to the Top Backlog, the exact place you reached clicking on this button:
Now, you will go to the Top Backlog in one single click.
Where do I go when clicking on “Kanban“?
The link “Kanban” will lead you to a new page listing all Kanban Boards, as below.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I have two links leading to my Backlog?
It can be possible that you get in your sidebar, two links leading to you Top Backlog. Yes, because that’s true that some projects create their own shortcuts to access shortly to their Top Backlog. If so, relax.
If you are the project administrator :
As an admin, we advice you to remove the shortcut link you created before. Go in the admin settings of your project, then Services.
You are NOT the project administrator:
The two links lead to the same place. Nevertheless, get in touch with the admin of your project so that he/she can update the sidebar.
What if I get a link leading to the Agile Dashboard homepage of an other project ?
In a soon future, this page will no longer exist ; the link will automatically forward you to the project dashboard.
But, it can be useful to update this link to avoid numerous clicks to reach the information you want.
If you are the project administrator :
As and admin, we advice
As an admin, we advice you to remove the shortcut link you created before. Go in the admin settings of your project, then Services.
You are NOT the project administrator:
The link will no longer lead you to the homepage of the Agile Dashboard but to the dashboard of the other project. In this other project, you will have to click on Backlog to go to the Top Backlog awaiting the project admin updates the link. We encourage you to contact the administrator of this other project to ask him the modification.
